The Golden Eagle men’s basketball team strives to play at its peak level during
each of its games during the season. To
do that, much preparation, hard work and
dedication is needed, to attain the high performance that is associated with Southern
Miss Basketball each year. Physical preparation and conditioning is the foundation to
that success. Each player understands that
offseason work is the stepping stone to the
next season, and without hard work, dedication and many hours of training, becoming a
champion is impossible.
• The Southern Miss strength and conditioning program has two main goals – helping athletes to enhance their individual
performance potential and aiding in the
prevention of injuries through training.
• The strength and conditioning program
builds a workout plan that will enhance
the weakest phase of each individual’s
ability. If each person is only as strong as
their weakest link, the program strives to
make that weak link strong.
