ary Beth Whitaker
begins her third
season with
the Louisville
women’s bas-
ketball team
and her first
as the team’s
director of bas-
ketball opera-
tions. Whitaker
rejoined the Cardinal program in 2010 after
spending the last two seasons as the Director
of Operations for Eastern Kentucky Wom-
en’s Basketball Program.
Whitaker was previously a graduate assis-
tant manager for the Cardinals during the
2007-08 season. She rejoined Jeff Walz’s
staff in 2010 and served one year as the
video coordinator before moving over to the
director of operations. Whitaker is in charge
of coordinating the team’s travel and team’s
equipment needs. She also coordinates all
the Cardinal basketball camps.
While at EKU, Whitaker was in charge
of coordinating team travel and overseeing
the team managers. She was also in charge
of film exchange and coordinated all the
program’s summer camps. Whitaker also
assisted the recruiting coordinator while
overseeing the program’s budget.
The Somerset, Ky., native joined the
Louisville program in 2007. She was part
of a team that finished as the runner-up in
the BIG EAST Conference tournament and
advanced to the program’s first NCAA
Sweet 16. The Cardinals finished the 2007-
08 season ranked 12th in the national polls.
While at Louisville, she also assisted the
director of operations with team travel,
scheduling and equipment, helped develop
schedules for player workouts and recruiting
visits. She was also responsible for day-to-
day managerial operations and served as the
summer camp co-director. Whitaker also
helped with on campus recruiting, bringing
in a Top 15 recruiting class.
