Included among East Carolina’s new era of athletic omplex construction, expansion and renovation is
the ECU Indoor Tennis Facility, which opened its doors
in February, 2011.
The 22,000-square-foot venue, which was designed
exclusively for use by the Pirate and Lady Pirate
tennis programs and meets all standards set
by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association,
features an acrylic-based durable hard-court surface covering three courts,
indirect lighting and movable
screens separating each playing
surface.
The indoor facility brings
an advantage for East Carolina
Tennis the school has never
experienced, enabling both
programs to conduct matches,
practices and individual lessons in
comfort despite adverse or inclement
weather conditions outside.

OUTDOOR
Tennis Complex
East Carolina plays its outdoor home matches at the recently resurfaced and
refurbished eight-court ECU Tennis Complex.
Located directly behind Minges Coliseum and
adjacent to the Ward Sports Medicine Building,
it gives Pirate student-athletes a state-of
the-art hard-top surface for competition. In
addition to spring home matches, the complex
also serves as a venue for fall tournament play.
